- Listen to melting glaciers
Recording of Katie Paterson’s unique work of art, first displayed at the Slade
School of Fine Art in London in 2007, which invited people to dial a mobile
phone number to listen to the cracks and groans of melting ice.
Paterson placed an underwater microphone inside the Jökulsárlón lagoon
- an outlet glacial lagoon of the Vatnajökull glacier on Iceland –
which was connected to an amplifier and a mobile-phone, creating a live
phone line to the glacier.
