Why she is cool: Mary Robinson is a leading member of several initiatives in international affairs, notably on human rights and the environment. Robinson, who is Vice-President of the Club of Madrid, is one of three chair-women of the Road to Copenhagen initiative on climate change.
Cool facts: Mary Robinson served as the first female President of Ireland from 1990 to 1997, and as United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights from 1997 to 2002.
